The Dublin Dental University Hospital has a 110 year history of providing patient care and education.

Located in the busy centre of Dublin the Dublin Dental University Hospital is a voluntary hospital providing primary, secondary and tertiary care for patients on a local, regional and national basis.

The Dublin Dental University Hospital is a centre of excellence in patient care, education and research, which enhance the learning experience of our students and the delivery of care to patients in an integrated and balanced way. This is achieved in a safe environment by the effective use of the available resources and in response to the needs of the community through governance, partnership, investment in our staff, valuing diversity and the integration of technology.

The 2006-2010 Strategy Excellence in Education, Research and Patient Care was the blueprint for the Hospital over the last four years.  In 2010 the Board approved the development of a new four year strategic plan 2011-2014. 

This strategy incorporates inputs from academics, clinicians, staff and students across the institution, as well as contributions from key external stakeholders.  The Plan represents a commitment to the highest levels of professionalism, and a clear statement of the Dublin Dental University Hospital’s ambitions to be the national centre in Ireland for the provision of secondary and tertiary oral and dental care, as well as in education and training for the entire dental team.

The strategy builds upon our successes to date.  The Strategic Plan also sets new challenges in the areas of education and training, patient care, research and development, as well as governance and direction.  The achievement of our goals in these areas will result in a better school and hospital for students, patients and staff.
