Corporate Services
Corporate Services is dedicated to working to meet the needs of our internal and external customers, through facilitation and project management, the dissemination of information, transparent governance, responsible leadership, personal example and best practice.
The functions and roles of the Corporate Services Department include the following activities:
Governance: Concerned with the management and ongoing development of the systems of governance in operation within the Dublin Dental University Hospital. In particular: management of Board Secretariat; Internal Audit; Risk; Quality Assurance – accreditation & certification; Hospital Insurances; Strategy co-ordination and annual Review of Effectiveness of Systems of Internal Financial Controls
Regulatory: Concerned with the provision of guidance and ensuring compliance. The following responsibilities fall into this area: Procurement (including the Supplies & Purchasing function); FOI and Data Protection; Radiological Protection; Compliance; new legislation and regulations; and Policy, Procedure and Protocol PPG development
Communication: Concerned with the development and promotion of open communication throughout the Hospital, with external partners and funders and to the public.
Corporate Servcies is staffed by Cathy Doyle (Corporate Services Manager, Denis Murphy (Regulatory, Compliance and Quality Manager), John Lambe (Stores Administrator) Stephen Ryan (Storeman).
Corporate Services Team
Cathy Doyle joined the Dublin Dental University Hospital as the Corporate Services Manager in January 2002. In this role she is responsible for a wide range of governance, regulatory and communications activities of the Hospital. She is a member of the senior management team. Prior to joining the Hospital Cathy had 23 years of administration experience having worked in TCD, initially in the IS and Catering Departments and laterally in a student services division.
Cathy studied with the Open University and completed a MBA in 2003 and an MA in Education Leadership and Management in 2011.
Since 2006 Cathy has been associate lecturer with the Institute of Leadership at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, lecturing to post graduate students on Governance, Communications and Risk Management.
Denis Murphy MBA, MScMBRM, PGCPSE, has worked with the Dublin Dental University Hospital since 2005. He currently holds the post of Regulatory, Compliance and Quality Manager. Denis joined the Hospital in the role of Accreditation Co-ordinator for the Hospitals successful attainment of Irish Health Services accreditation on the its attempt.
Denis holds a Masters of Business Administration, a Masters in Business and Management Research Methods and Post Graduate Certificate in Professional Studies in Education from the Open University (UK). He is currently working towards his Doctorate. His research interests include ethnography, and the social cultural model of education.
Denis is associate faculty with the Institute of Leadership with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and also holds the post of Chairperson of the Board of the Irish Society for Quality and Safety in Healthcare.
Prior to joining the Dublin Dental University Hospital, Denis worked in a number of quality and management positions in the private sector including ISO implementation and project management.
