Postgraduate Programmes

Welcome to the Postgraduate Education section of the Dublin Dental University Hospital (DDUH) website.

The DDUH provides a number of postgraduate programmes which we hope will be of interest to you. Successful completion of these programmes results in postgraduate awards from Trinity College Dublin.  The DDUH provides both taught course and research programmes.

Taught course programmes

The taught course programmes that are currently available are as follows:
1. Clinical Doctorate in Dental Surgery (D.Ch.Dent.) - 3 year full time.  There are six individual strands available as follows:

2. Postgraduate Diploma in Conscious Sedation – 18 months part time

3. Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry – 2 years part time

4. Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Dental Technology – 18 months part time

5. Postgraduate Diploma in Special Care Dentistry – 18 months part time

6. Certificate in Dental Radiography – 6 months online

Research Programmes

Staff at the DDUH carry out high quality research and the DDUH currently has 19 PhD students registered in Trinity College Dublin. PhD and Masters students are accepted and these can study full or part time. For more details on research projects running in the DDUH, please follow this link to our research page: http://www.dentalhospital.ie/research/ If you are interested in pursuing a research qualification with a principal investigator, please contact the investigator directly via email prior to submitting an application.  Candidates are usually required to have a good honours degree (i.e. upper second class or first class honours degree or equivalent qualification).
