On International Women’s Day 2022, Dr Alison Dougall was awarded the prestigious John Tomes medal by the Royal College of Surgeons of England and she accepted the award at the brand new RCS building in Lincolns Inn Fields, accompanied by Professor Blanaid Daly Dean of Dental Science, DDUH at the first in-person ceremony since the start of the pandemic.

The Odontology Section of The Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland would like to thank all speakers and attendees of our first event of this academic year on Monday 15th November 2021 on The Dental Management of the Head & Neck Cancer Patient. Turn-out to this synchronous online event was excellent, with audience members attending from all across Ireland and attendance transcending traditional medical/dental barriers. Certificate in Orofacial Pain

Dublin Dental University Hospital is accepting applications for the Certificate in Orofacial Pain. This is a year-long, part-time programme, designed to equip general dentists and dental specialists with knowledge and skills in the areas of neuropathic orofacial pain, headache disorders and temporomandibular disorders. Applications for the programme should be made online at: https://www.tcd.ie/courses/postgraduate/az/course.php?id=DPCDE-OPAI-1P01. Closing date is 13th November 2021.
